Shop for a Realtor before you shop for a home
Posted by: Greg Fischer Post date: August 24th, 2010If you’re shopping for a new home, you can start the process off right by finding a great NH Real Estate agent. Having the right agent working with you will simplify the home shopping, buying and closing process as much as any other single thing.
You, your Realtor and your mortgage professional need to work as a team to cover all the details necessary when buying a home. If communication is the most important factor in a smooth home purchase, having the right people on your team is the best way to make sure it happens.
Before you start looking at homes, know the answers to these questions, and make sure that you and your Realtor understand your needs before you sign on the line:
1. How many past experiences have you had owning homes and/or moving?
2. Why is now the right time for you to move?
3. How long have you considered this move?
4. How will this move benefit you (and your family)?
5. Are there any downsides to this move for you, or potential pitfalls you see?
6. How will having a real estate agent benefit you?
7. What were your past experiences like with real estate agents? (Let them know, good or bad, you won’t hurt their feelings with your answers.)
8. Are there any specific issues you’d like me to address or questions you’d like to ask?
If you’re clear about what you’re looking for in a real estate agent, you will be more able to find the right one for your needs. If you’re looking to buy a house in New Hampshire and would like the name of a great Realtor to start with, I’d be happy to introduce you to one.
